4 Days Peaks & Valleys of the Atlas
4 DaysDominating the unparalleled southern vista from Marrakech stands North Africa’s loftiest peak. Its summit, often adorned with a surprising blanket of snow, presents a startling contrast to the city’s landscape. Despite its imposing winter appearance, the mountain offers a more accessible climbing experience during the warmer summer months.
What to Bring
4 Days Peaks & Valleys of the Atlas
Embarking on an Atlas Trek requires preparation similar to any mountain expedition. While days may be bright and warm, mountain weather is notoriously fickle, potentially shifting from sunshine to snow and biting winds in an instant, especially from autumn to late spring. We strongly advocate a ‘leave no trace’ policy – please pack out all that you bring in.
Atlas Treks are customized to align with both the season and your personal fitness level. You can opt for daily excursions while based in traditional Berber Guesthouses, or venture on multi-day Atlas Mule Treks lasting two days or more.
Mule trek accommodations offer variety, ranging from stays in Berber Guesthouses or with local families, to wild camping in two-person tents. To ensure you’re fully equipped, we’ve compiled a specialized Atlas Trekking Checklist, which supplements your standard packing list.
